From December 6, 2021 to December 30, 2021
A Virtual Workshop on the Strategic Importance of Biomanufacturing in Europe
Including New Opportunities in Space
We are pleased to offer you to watch the replay of our virtual workshop on November 30th from 3pm to 4:30pm CET on new opportunities for the biomanufacturing industry to leverage Low Earth Orbit (LEO) for R&D and manufacturing activity.
Did you know?
There is a unique industrial research laboratory constantly moving above our head, at 400km: the International Space Station!
This laboratory offers incredible possibilities thanks to microgravity and extreme radiative conditions, allowing for a better understanding and optimization of numerous physical, chemical and biological properties.
Each year, more than 200 experiments are conducted and developed in the ISS. You could be next!
These 90 minutes presentation started with several keynotes with representatives for biomanufacturing and leaders in the space sector in both France and Europe. It was followed by a panel discussion to outline the benefits of microgravity for biomanufacturing projects can which features companies that have conducted space-based activity to benefit their terrestrial operations.

The workshop presented the effects of LEO based phenomena (microgravity, extreme conditions, vantage point) for research and manufacturing related to several key topics:
|
|
A discussion about specific organizations that have conducted space-based activity to benefit their terrestrial operations and interviews with the researcher(s) that have done this work
An overview of the International Space Station as well as new European space transportation systems that are coming on-line providing new opportunities for R&D and manufacturing in LEO.
The workshop took place on November 30 from 3:00 to 4:30 pm CET.
Watch the replay to enrich your knowledge on these topics and see how your organization can greatly benefit from this unique environment!
