From July 1, 2020 to July 1, 2020
During the last MEDES Board of Directors, Ms. Audrey Berthier was appointed Executive Director of MEDES by all the members of the GIE.
She succeeds Philippe Hazane who has worked at the head of the GIE during the past 4 years and is leaving for new horizons. She took up her duties on July 2, 2020.
She is a biomedical engineer and joined the structure in 2001 as project manager. She then coordinates and participates in numerous national and European projects on innovations or research between space and health, in the field of space medicine or even e-health. In the field of space medicine, for example, she has contributed to projects aimed at developing new countermeasures to prevent or limit the physiological disorders observed in space and to several prospective biomedical studies to prepare for future manned space missions. In 2018, she was promoted to Director of Operations.
Her appointment as Executive Director gives MEDES the opportunity to pursue the actions of the GIE to maintain and strengthen its influence at national, European and international level, in the field of space medicine and physiology, to prepare for future missions of exploration, as well as to help accelerate land-based innovations in health, thanks to synergies with the space sector.
